Here we go again!

Well its back to the blog. Sorry it takes so long but often there is little to write about. I went to Sloan on Thursday and met with my doctors. I have enrolled in a brand new clinical research program. There will be 20 people involved and I am number 3. The drug is called ADI-SS Peg 20,000. It causes a nutrient called Arginine to break down and that nutrient is needed by melanoma cells to grow. My doctor feels optimistic about this cutting edge drug so away we go. I need to go for a number of scans to see if the results. The results in mice have been very positive so as we say Here we go again!

Once again thanks to all of you for your warm wishes, notes, e mails, calls and thanks for staying with me over these past few months it really means the world.

Nicki continues to hold down the fort and does an amazing job in keeping it all together.

Looking forward till tomorrow

Love

Mark

Mark: Great to hear from you again. Think about you often and keep you in my prayers. Thank Jeremy for the link to your new chemo; it sounds very interesting and the side effects more manageable. Wish you all the best.

Mark,

I’ve got a good feeling about this treatment. My mother had a recurrence of Non-Hodgkins lymphoma early this year. Given her age, they were reluctant to do chemo, so they treated her with a new drug, Rituxan. She finished treatment in early May, no side effects, reduced the growth, and she has been back in Camp all summer, and as active as ever.

Since I moved up to Rockland (Airmont) Krys and I usually go to Friday dinner with Arthur Levine, Barbara, Mindy and Andre. We go to a great Chinese restaurant (don’t tell my brother) on RT 17. We all are pulling for you and want you and Nicki to join us for dinner soon, real soon.

All the best,

Arthur Amdurer

Hi Mark,
Good to see you on the blog and Hildy tells me you had a really good day yesterday.
I was interested in what Arthur said about Aunt Nettie. She's certainly always been an amazing, inspirational woman. You too are inspiring as you fight this immense battle.
We just got back from California last night. The last time I was in San Francisco it was 1973 and I met your parents, Mindy, and Arthur and Dorothy in Golden Gate Park. No one knew then what life would bring, all the good and bad. But my father always said, it's all part of life. So keep fighting and we'll keep praying.
Love to Nicki and the whole family,
Karen
