Just came back from Sloan for my one week evaluation. For the first time I have started to have reactions from the drug. All along they told me I would. At this point it is a rash on my face, neck, scalp, etc. as well as feeling more nauseous than usual. Speaking to my nurse (who really knows everything) she expressed how glad she was because it meant that since it was causing those reactions it was also engaging the melanoma cells.
The question is - do I want to get sicker and feel like the fight is really on or do I hope for a round at a time and beat it in 12 rounds?
Since I don't have control I go with whatever comes my way. But it is something to think about.
Looking forward to tomorrow
Regards
Mark

Hi Mark,
Yes, it's another one of your first cousins! I'm so glad you and the boys did this site. At least now we have a way of "talking" to you.
Karen had to help me go thru the blog process so i can send this.
You knowwe wish, you, Nicki, Daniel,Jeremy & Sara all the best.
Love & Regards,

I know you pretty well, and I certainly believe that you want to feel the fight is really on. You will take whatever comes to you and you will deal with it the same way you have dealt with any other situation...like a champ.
Hi Mark,
I have a message for you from Rona and Alan. They're having trouble with their blog but here's the message:
Since I am temporarily blog challenged, could you relay this message to Mark from Alan via the blog—Alan says the rash is a good sign and that is what the docs want to see. It is the indication they look for that those particular drugs are working.
Thanks. I’ll get blogging one of these days. I have it stuck in acrobat mode and I need to get it unstuck.
Have a good day,
Love,
Karen
Thanks to all for your comments.
I am glad to hear that Alan agrees with the Doctors.
Regards
Mark
Hi Mark,
For the nausau you can try ice chips, (first choice) white ice gatoraide, cola syrup (over ice) from a drug store, cold compresses on your forehead and back of neck. Also, sleep, together with a prescription, in any form, if allowed. Dad doesn't know how to do this so regards and from Uncle Joe.
